Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa visited the Police and Civil Defense departments in Ramallah today, accompanied by Minister of Interior Maj. Gen. Ziad Hab Al-Reeh and Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister's Office Mohammad Al-Ahmad.
He was received by Police Chief Maj. Gen. Allam Al-Saqqa and Civil Defense Chief Maj. Gen. Al-Abed Ibrahim Khalil.
During the visit, the Prime Minister reviewed the police force's performance, achievements, and future plans, focusing on enhancing public trust, improving security services, and optimizing the use of human resources and technology. He conveyed President Mahmoud Abbas’s greetings and appreciation for the security institution's efforts in serving the Palestinian people despite ongoing challenges, expressing pride in the remarkable progress achieved.
Mustafa reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the security sector, advancing its operations, and empowering the judiciary. He also stressed the government’s ongoing efforts to support Gaza residents, facilitate humanitarian aid delivery, and work toward national unity and institutional integration.
At the Civil Defense headquarters, the Prime Minister praised the department’s swift response to recent Israeli incursions and settler attacks, highlighting its role in protecting citizens, property, and national institutions. He emphasized that the government would spare no effort to further develop Palestine's civil defense system to provide robust support to all in need, particularly in Gaza following the aggression.
Civil Defense departments presented a detailed overview of their accomplishments, including advancements in early warning systems for earthquakes, floods, and attacks, enhanced emergency response teams, and international humanitarian missions. They also outlined plans to expand coverage in the West Bank by opening new centers, increasing public awareness to reduce accidents, and improving safety measures to lower casualty rates.
The Prime Minister concluded his visit by commending the efforts of both the Police and Civil Defense departments, emphasizing their crucial role in protecting and strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people.
