Tulkarem – Maj. Gen. Allam Al-Saqqa, Chief of the Palestinian Police, affirmed that the police force is moving decisively to confront negative phenomena, reduce the spread of crime, and combat the proliferation of illegal vehicles, which pose a direct threat to the safety and security of citizens.
This came during an inspection visit to Tulkarem Governorate, where Maj. Gen. Al-Saqqa met with Governor Maj. Gen. Abdullah Kmail at the Governor’s Office. Governor Kmail praised the directives of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas aimed at strengthening the resilience of citizens and commended the unified efforts of the police and all security institutions working collectively to address the complex security challenges facing the governorate.
Maj. Gen. Al-Saqqa pointed out that ensuring security is a shared responsibility that requires close cooperation between the police and the citizens , highlighting the significant role of the community in supporting resilience and stability—especially in light of the exceptional circumstances the governorate is experiencing
During his visit, Al-Saqqa inspected several police stations including the Police Directorate, Deir Al-Ghusoun Police Station, Anabta Police Station, and the headquarters of the Special Police Forces. He also held a meeting with the Governorate Police Director, Brigadier . Bashar Atyani, and several department directors.
In his meeting with the officers, Al-Saqqa underscored the importance of earning public trust and encouraging active community participation, which he described as essential in crime prevention and fostering a sense of security. He also affirmed that the police force is resolutely pursuing its fight against security chaos, most notably the phenomenon of illegal vehicles being a key priority due to the danger they pose to public safety.
Maj. Gen. Al-Saqqa concluded by emphasizing that a strong and collaborative partnership between the police and the community represents the true guarantee for building a safe and stable environment., stressing that community engagement is a cornerstone in supporting security efforts, enforcing the rule of law, protecting citizens’ rights, and preserving community gains.
