Bethlehem – Major General Allam Al-Saqqa, The Chief of Palestinian Police, along with Ms. Karine Lemdal, Head of the Eupol Copps, her assistants, and a delegation of the International Office for Drugs and Crime (INL) at the U.S. Coordinator’s Office, visited several institutions in Bethlehem Governorate Thursday, to review ongoing operations.
The police stated that the delegation began its visit in Dheisheh Refugee Camp, meeting with officials from the camp’s Popular Committee, including Bethlehem Governor Muhammad Taha, Mr. Abu Khalil Lahham, National Council member, Mr. Muhammad Abdel Nabi Lahham, member of Fatah's Revolutionary Council, and Mr. Mahmoud Ramadan, head of the camp’s Popular Committee . The delegation listened to the main challenges faced by cam’p residents and discussed potential solutions.
The visit continued at the Bethlehem Police Directorate, where they were welcomed by Colonel Murad Qandah, Director of Bethlehem Police. Major General Al-Saqqa and the European police delegation were briefed on the work of the governorate’s police and the security actions taken to maintain public safety and enhance security situation.
They also conducted an inspection tour of the Correction and Rehabilitation Center in the governorate.
Major General Al-Saqqa emphasized, “We are working to build a modern police force for a secure and stable state.”
