16thDec.2014 (Nablus) — Palestinian Police participated in lighting the Christmas tree in Nablus announcing the beginning of Christmas celebrations for all Christian sects.
Police’s Public Relations and Media Department reported in a statement that scouts marched from the Church of Annunciation in Rafidya toward Yasir Arafat Street. Many officials participated in the ceremony including Religious leaders, governor of Nablus Akram Al-Rjoob, Director of Nablus Police Abdul latif Al-Qadumi, mayor of Nablus Ghassan Al Shak’a and the Director of Military Liaison Lieutenant colonel Osama Mansour.
The statement added that “this participation comes in line with the efforts to strengthen the relationship, communication and ties with society in general, and with all Christian denominations in particular, and in order to establish a community partnership and achieve security and stability.
Colonel Al- Qadumi asserted that relations among Muslims and Christians in Palestine are based on mutual respect and brotherliness. Palestinian police, he added, are devoted to provide safety and security for all Palestinian People, and offer them better services to enjoy stability and tranquility and live in peace.
