Police Participates in Jerusalem International Marathon in Abu Dis Town

28th Nov.2014 (Ramallah) - General Directorate of Police - Police participated in Jerusalem International Marathon which was organized under the patronage of the Arab League, incooperation with the Youth and Sports Council and the Palestinian Olympic Committee in coordination with the Police Sport Union.

Police’ Public Relations and Media department reported in a statement that” The Jerusalem  Fifth International Marathon kicked off at 12:00 PM in front of offices of the Palestinian Legislative Council in the town of Abu Dis in the presence of the Chairman of the Palestinian Sports Union of Police Colonel. Bassam Jaber, sports supervisor Captain Aqeel Brahmin and First Lieutenant Alaa Yassin.

Five hundred runners of all national clubs and civil institutions participated in the Marathon, with the participation of (65) Runner of police officers and department of security guards and Bethlehem Police and police of the outskirts of Jerusalem. Also (50) runner from Al Istiqlal University participated, where the end of the Marathon was at the gate of Al Quds University in the town of Abu Dis. Police got second and third place in the marathon, where the policeman Mohammed Sufian Mohammed Omar got the second and  First Sergeant Abdullah Hussein al-Faqih got the third.
