Jericho- Brigadier General Jihad al-Masimi deputy of the general director of police and the interior minister of Spain Jorge Fernández Díaz and the Minister of Justice Rafael Catala today opened the new building of the Directorate of Police in Jericho in the presence of the Spanish Consul General Jose Escobar.
Police’s public relations and media department reprted in a statement , "that the Directorate was held in the city of Jericho and was built with Spanish funding , and it includes a modern fully equipped building with all specialized police departments and modern offices offer the best services to the public, in addition to other service facilities."
Brigadier Gen. al-Masimi pointed at the opening ceremony to the importance of Spain's support for the Palestinian people in general and the Palestinian Police in particular, and thanked the Spanish government for its continued support, which was one of the first countries that provided logistical assistance and training to the police, and he emphasized on the importance of the official opening and the presence of two ministers of the Spanish government , and the presence of the Spanish General Consul in addition to the Director of Public relation and media department Department Colonel. Wadah Azamta and the director of Jericho Police Colonel Azzam Jbara.
Brigadier al-Masimi expressed his happiness at the opening of the new building, which contributes to building a promising future for the police, and through continued support in capacity building and promotion in various training and logistics and other fields, and for the development of police work and access to the Palestinian state police.
For his part, Mr. Fernandez and Catala stressed that the promotion and development of the Palestinian police capacity is a formal commitment of the Spanish government, and that all this is in the common interest between Spain and Palestine, and forward their gratitude to Brigadier Gen. al-Masimi and for the warm reception, and expressed their happiness for the official opening and inauguration of the building.
The Ministers, accompanied by Brigadier Gen. Al-Masimi move around a number of Directorate sections, and were briefed on the functioning of the various departments by Colonel Jbara and a number of department managers for policing service provided to citizens and visitors to the directorate.
The ceremony was also attended by a number of assistants and general managers and advisers from the Spanish ministries of Justice and Interior and Police officers.
